My fused work is largely influenced by the vibrant colors and patterning prevalent in folk art yet also references a painterly style. Individual patches contain intricacy with vivid coloring and geometric pattern but overall portray more of an organic feel. I use bits and pieces of fabricated, collected and recycled glass. Many components are taken from their original state and cut or crushed in various ways to create new textures and color combinations. The glass is fused into individual pieces or panels, then layered when hung upon a wall to create depth and a more complex overall pattern. Colors, shapes and patterns mix to complement one another, making one larger, cohesive panel.
